Inmate missing from community correctional facility in Omaha
OMAHA, Neb. -- A 30-year-old sentenced man removed his monitoring device and left the corrections center where he was held at.
According to authorities, an inmate went missing from the Community Corrections Center in Omaha.
The report said Tyler Williams left the facility Friday morning and removed the electronic monitoring device that he was wearing. The device was recovered by facility staff near North 20th and Locust in Omaha.
Officials said Williams started his sentence on November 12, 2018 and was sentenced to six to 12 years on charges out of Douglas County. The charges include possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and possession of a deadly weapon by a felon/fugitive.
According to the report, Williams has a parole eligibility date of July 23, 2022 and a tentative release date of July 23, 2025.
Authorities said Williams is a 30-year-old man, 5'10'', 198 lbs., with black hair and brown. Anyone with knowledge of Williams' whereabouts is asked to contact local authorities or the Nebraska State Patrol.
The report said CCC-O is one of two community custody facilities operated by the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. Community custody is the lowest custody level and the least restrictive facility. Inmates are allowed to participate in work opportunities and attend school and religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
