Peru thankful for bottled water donation while under boil advisory
Water being hauled from Auburn during well repair

PERU – The City of Peru posted its gratitude Wednesday for the donation of bottled water during its current boil order.
A boil water advisory was issued June 21 during water system repairs. Water is being trucked from Auburn to Peru.
The advisory says water must be boiled vigorously for one minute for drinking and cooking. Alternate sources of water are encouraged until testing with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services shows no risk of public health effects.
To ease the burden of hauling water, residents are asked to conserve water.
Peru announced on June 20 that a motor at the water well failed and would need to be repaired. Outdoor water use, car washing and lawn irrigation is banned during the water emergency.
The city’s splash pad was off for repairs earlier in June.
The city announced Wednesday that Dollar Fresh had donated four pallets of bottled water, which is being distributed at city hall.
