LINCOLN - Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts credits an unmatched work ethic in his response to a labor statistics report showing more Nebraskans employed than ever before.

The new record is it 1,042,762. It is the 11th straight month of record employment in the state, while Nebraska’s unemployment rate remains the lowest in the nation at 1.9 percent.

The governor said the government’s tax collections are also strong. In May, receipts were $52 million above forecast.
