Residents line Wildwood Park for Nebraska City Community Picnic
Residents showed up to Wildwood Park for the community picnic Sunday despite the sticky weather and chance for potential storms.
NEBRASKA CITY - It was hot and humid Sunday afternoon, but that didn't stop local residents from taking in the fourth Nebraska City Community Picnic at Wildwood Park.
Folks in attendance gathered under canopies and utilized picnic tables to enjoy the company of neighbors, shredded brisket, beverages and music. Others brought lawn chairs and blankets to sprawl out on the grass throughout the park.
Jarana provided the live music entertainment for the second consecutive year.
Severe storms swept through River Country Saturday night and there was a chance for more weather in the area Sunday which could've put a damper on the picnic. But Mother Nature held off and the sun shined allowing the event to go on without a hitch.
In case of weather, a makeup date was set for Tuesday, June 14.
Below are a few photos from this year's picnic.
