NEBRASKA CITY - Nebraska City Fire and Rescue responded to the Steinhart Park Aquatic Center Thursday afternoon on a report of a swimmer in a medical emergency.
City Administrator Lou Leone said a girl went deeper than she is used to after going down a slide and is believed to have swallowed some water.
The girl was attended to by staff and a nurse who was visiting the pool. She was awake and alert before leaving in an ambulance to be checked out at the hospital.
