(Peru, Neb.)—Earlier this spring Peru State cross country head coach signed Amyra Moxey for the upcoming 2022-23 season. Moxey is from Louisville, Nebraska and went to Louisville High School.
Moxey comes to Peru State college by way of Clarkson College in Omaha, Nebraska. Her parents are Nikki and Jamion Biesterfeld. Moxey plans to major in early childhood education while attending Peru State College.
Moxey was a part of the National Honor Society in high school and was a four-year letter winner for cross country and track.
Here is what head coach James Cole had to say about Moxey…
"Amyra is a college transfer who competed in high school cross country and track for Louisville High School. Her high school times would place her in the top finishers for our fall 2021 team," said Cole.
Cole continued…
"I actually ran the 2021 Nebraska Market to Market with Amyra and several friends from the Nebraska National Guard. She filled in for our relay team which was short a runner. She performed very well completing nine miles of the 77-mile relay at sub-nine-minute mile paces. I believe Amyra will be a competitor for our top positions in fall of 2022 and look forward to running with her more."
Peru State Cross Country will begin running again in fall 2022.
