Peru State students attend museum conference
White has experience as an intern at Nebraska City museum

PERU – Peru State College students attended the Nebraska Museums Association conference at Holdrege this spring.
Attendees included:
- Sophie White, a senior social science teaching major from Hamburg, Iowa
- Sarah Davis-Kovarik, a sophomore history major from Palmyra
- Jolie Scott, a senior history major from Jansen
- Barbara Curley-Fail – post-baccalaureate history major from Falls City
- Dr. Kathi Nehls, faculty member and associate professor of history
Students learned to develop strategies for engaging visitors and attended sessions on public history topics.
Curley-Fail is enrolled in the public history certificate program, which requires an internship.
White, who was a paid-intern at a Nebraska City museum, said the conference outlined the importance of community en
Scott said she learned about an archivist position in Gage County at the conference and expects to start there this month.
Also in attendance at the conference was Steve Woerth, President of the Brownville Historical Society.
