River Country Rundown: Primary 2022

TECUMSEH – The May 7th death of incumbent Johnson County Board candidate Scotty Gottula will leave two challengers on the Republican ballot.

Republicans will choose between David Borrenpohl of Tecumseh and Scott Buss of Sterling. Bob Gregory of Tecumseh is on the Libertarian ballot.

Gottula, 66, was an 1974 Elk Creek High School graduate, businessman and longtime commissioner.

Funeral services are scheduled May 16 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in rural Elk Creek.

Bryon Klauenberg of Sterling is seeking election as county sheriff. He is the acting sheriff with the resignation of Scott Walton after 11 years. He recommended Klauenberg to replace him.
