City commissioners approve grant to purchase PRR house
NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska City City Commissioners approved a grant of $21,000 for down payment assistance to help a home buyer purchase the Purchase-Rehab-Resell (PRR) house at 1117 3rd Ave. in Nebraska City.
The house, which has three bedrooms and one bathroom, is set to be sold for $109,000. Construction and Facilities Manager Marty Stovall addressed the commissioners and stated that the $21,000 was the "maximum the down payment assistance could be."
Stovall: "We ran the application and all the qualifications from the potential home buyer. And the application has been approved and meets the program guidelines."
The home buyer had to meet the prerequisites outlined in the Nebraska City DPA Homeownership Opportunity Program.
Streets Commissioner Vic Johns followed with a motion to approve the down payment assistance grant, which received yes votes from all council members.
