Falls City council considers Wilderness Falls street

A+ Heating and Cooling offers to donate labor for new furnace and air conditioning for office at fire house

FALLS CITY - The Falls City City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m.,May 2

The city is asked to fund 50 percent of the street costs at Wilderness Falls to add eight additional senior living duplexes.

Excel Development reports over 70 people on a waiting list for housing units. Lucas Froeschl of Falls City EDGE said adding 16 more dwelling units is expected to cost $4 million.

A+ Heating and Cooling of Falls City has bid $11,780 for a new office furnace and air conditioning at the fire department.

Fire Chief Matt Beer said Mr. Slice is willing to donate labor costs for the fire department and firefighters are willing to assist in the installation.

Jarrod and Kristin Chapple are requesting a curb cut at 1410 Nemaha Ave.

A resolution is proposed to abate nuisance at 2015 Stone St. The resolution says the owner pledged in March to repair the roof when the weather got warmer, but  there has been no progress. The city is pursuing demolition.

Librarian Hope Schawang  is scheduled to discuss part-time help at the library.
