NEBRASKA CITY - Matthew Steele, 34, of Nebraska City was sentenced to 42 days for misdemeanor attempted possession of methamphetamine on March 9.

Police say meth residue was found following a K9’s  “free air” sniff at a Nebraska City traffic stop. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that a free air sniff is not a violation of the Fourth Amendment privacy protections when the dog is legally present, such as on a roadway or non-residential parking lot.
