Wind expected to pick up this afternoon

OMAHA - National Weather Service has issued wind advisory for Johnson, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee and Richardson counties until 7 p.m. today.

South winds of 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected beginning at 1 p.m. this afternoon.

Portions of southeast Nebraska remain in the marginal category for severe weather today, however the highest risk areas are in western Kansas and Nebraska.

Brenner Field at Falls City reported a thunderstorm in the vicinity at 1:53 a.m. Friday.
