Red Flag warning for river basin north of Omaha
Fire hazard in extreme category for northeast portions of Nebraska
OMAHA - Portions of the Missouri River basin north of Omaha is in the high risk fire danger today.
The rangeland fire danger also includes the northeast region from South Sioux City and Wayne to Tekamah.
The remaining river basin and all of southeast Nebraska is in the very high category for wildfire risk.
The National Weather Service has issued a red flag fire warning for Cedar, Thurston, Wayne, Stanton, Cuming, Burt, Colfax, Dodge and Washington counties.
Northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts of 35 mph are expected.
