OMAHA, Neb. -- A mask mandate lawsuit in Omaha has been dropped.

Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson said Wednesday that his office plans to dismiss the State's lawsuit against the City of Omaha.

This comes as the Omaha City Council voted Tuesday night to limit the authority of the Douglas County health director.

The updated guidance stipulates the health director will make the initial call for action in the event of a pandemic or health crisis, then the mayor weighs in and the city council has the final vote.
