Chandler jailed for trip to Texas, probation ordered on meth conspiracy
FALLS CITY – Kimberly Chandler, 51, of Falls City was sentenced Tuesday 364 days in county jail for escape in November and two years probation for delivery of methamphetamine in August.
The escape charge was filed after Chandler left a drug treatment facility while out on bond and went to Texas to meet a man she had met online. She said she never made it to her destination because she got jumped and spent a month in a Houston hospital.
The delivery charge was filed after the Richardson County Sheriff’s Office searched a Verdon residence and used evidence found there to start a narcotics investigation against Chandler. Deputies say Chandler conspired over the distribution of $80 worth of meth and intended to deliver $120 worth of meth.
She is also sentenced to two years post-release supervision. The judge denied Chandler's request for house arrest.
In other district court action, Jaden Dawson, 22, of Omaha was fined $600 for attempted possession of concentrated THC in October.
He was arrested following a Richardson County Sheriff’s Office traffic stop on Highway 75.
