(Peru, Neb.)Sidney Peck (Manitoba, Canada) – a member of the Peru State volleyball team was recently named by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NCSA) as an All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year.
 
This award recognizes Peck's athletic accomplishments and her dedication to strength and conditioning. Nominated by Coach Dr. Kyle Ryan of Peru State College, Peck's determination to improve in athletics while maintaining academic prominence is a great model for all student-athletes at Peru State College.
 
"Sidney Peck is dedicated to striving for excellence both on the court and in the weight room. She accepts nothing less than her best and is willing to learn new skills in order to increase her performance in both areas," said Dr. Kyle Ryan professor of Kinesiology at Peru State College.
 "As an outside hitter, standing at 5'6", she has already increased her vertical from the fall season to the start of the spring season by three inches (21.5")."

"Both her squat and deadlift have been recorded at 88.45kg. Her incline bench and power clean have also been recorded at 43.09kg. Peck is a Kinesiology major and holds a 3.82 grade point average. Her relentless tenacity fuels her to lead by example. No matter how tough the challenge is on the court, in the weight room, or in the classroom, Peck shows true grit and gets after it."
