Shanks working for Eagle Scout badge
SYRACUSE - Robert Shanks of Syracuse presented to the Syracuse planning commission, Mayor Deb Dettmer and the city council his plans to complete his Eagle scout badge.
Shanks, a senior Legion baseball player, has seen the need for a building to store the Legion Ball team equipment.
He presented plans of a building that will abut the field on the west side to take place of one of the double gates. Shanks raised $2,000 towards a $5,500-project. Shanks asked the city council for $1,000 from the Syracuse Keno fund.
In other action, CPAs Julie Bauman and Todd Blome discussed the annual financial report for the fiscal year.
Ms. Bauman noted that due to the bathhouse project and water main project, spending is up for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2021, with reimbursements being made through grants and the Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund. Future projects will be reviewed and addressed during budget time based upon the priorities of the Mayor and City Council
The Syracuse Annual fireman's dance will be held March 26th at the Kimmel building in Syracuse, doors open at 7 p.m. with the Lucas Minor band beginning at 8 p.m.
