PLATTSMOUTH - The Cass County Sheriff’s Office and local police are implementing instant, two-way communications with schools.

A sheriff’s office press release says In Force 911 software uses smartphones and tablets to reduce response times to schools and specific classrooms.

Sheriff William Brueggemann said the sophisticated software provides a vital link between those inside a school building and those rushing to help.

In Force Technology CEO Brandon Flanagan said In Force 911 allows educators to contact law enforcement in seconds, rather than minutes.

Flanagan said the alert provides police with invaluable information and actionable intelligence which will continue to reduce the time necessary to eliminate the threat.
