Spike strips used near Nebraska City
Omaha woman suspected of flight to avoid arrest
PLATTSMOUTH – Authorities arrested a 22-year-old Omaha man Tuesday after using stop spikes on Highway 75 north of Nebraska City.
Cass County Sheriff William Brueggemann says the pursuit started just after 1 a.m. in the area of Church Road when a deputy noticed a Cadillac SRX crossover with no license plates.
A sheriff’s office press release says the driver fled at speeds in excess of 100 mph and the Nebraska State Patrol deployed spike strips. The Cadillac continued west on Highway 2 before finally stopping.
The driver is suspected of operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest. Two passengers were eventually released.
