AUBURN - Senior Skylar Roybal dumped in 16 points Monday night, leading Auburn to the state tournament with a 41-37 win over Central City in the C1-5 District championship in front of a capacity crowd at Auburn Senior High School.

It was a close game throughout and the Bulldogs went into halftime with a 22-19 lead after senior forward Bret Baltensperger completed a 3-point play.

Sophomore Ayden Zikmund scored 14 points for the Bison to keep them in the game. Zikmund was guarded tightly all night and worked hard for scoring opportunities. 

The third quarter featured only 13 combined points between the squads, setting up the pivotal final 8 minutes. 

The Bulldogs played keep away for most of the fourth, with sophomore Maverick Binder running the point. Central City began fouling early in the fourth and Auburn finished the game from the foul line.

Auburn fans stormed the floor in jubilation as the team cut down the nets. The win ended Central City's 16-game winning streak.
