NEBRASKA CITY – A Crete man is suspected of possession of methamphetamine following a Feb. 16 traffic stop on Steinhart Park Road.

Nebraska City police say 49-year-old William Atkinson was driving on a suspended license and his pickup was searched after the K9 Mack made a “free air” sniff.

An arrest affidavit says police took Atkinson to jail and later found a pipe with meth residue in the patrol car.

In a separate case, a Lincoln man is charged in Otoe County with domestic assault and strangulation on Feb. 17.

A sheriff’s deputy responded to I Road west of Nebraska City where a woman told him she had been grabbed by the neck while her phone was being taken away from her.

A $50,000 bond was set for 44-year-old Jeremy Kudron.
