William A. Zoz

William A. Zoz age 87 of Murdock passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Southlake Village and Rehabilitation in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born on July 20, 1934 on the family farm in Murdock, Nebraska to William T and Amelia C. (Wenzl) Zoz.
Bill grew up on his family farm near Murdock and graduated from Murdock High School in 1952. After graduating he attended UNL until enlisting in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Mary Louise Meyer on October 1, 1960 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Manley, Nebraska. Together they made their home on the farm and raised their three children, Don, Laura and Paul.
Bill was a lifelong farmer and spent much of his time studying ways to make his farming operations better. He was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and the Sons of the American Legion in Elmwood. He previously served on the Murdock School Board and the Co-op Oil Board.
He is survived by his wife Mary Louise Zoz of Murdock, NE, children, Don (Brenda) Zoz of Murdock, NE, Laura (Brian) Farris of Omaha, NE, and Paul (Danielle) Zoz of Clearwater, FL, grandchildren, Eric Zoz, Jason (fiancé Emily Charvat) Zoz, Kevin (Monica) Zoz, Chris (Jessi) Farris, Emily (Ryan) Rakowsky, Nick (Nicole) Farris, Megan Farris, Paige (Bret) Blake, Connor Zoz, Ava Zoz and Augustine Zoz, great grandchildren, Jason Zoz, Jr, Gemma Zoz, Jett Zoz, Jordan Zoz, Amelia Farris, Natalie Farris, Oliver Farris, Henry Farris, Timmy Farris, Cal Farris, Grace Rakowsky, Riley Rakowsky, Olivia Rakowsky, Barrett Blake and Hattie Jo Blake, brother, Frank (Lois) Zoz of Waterloo, IA, brother-in-law, Marvin Scheideler of North Loop, NE. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Matthew Farris, great grandson, Gabriel Farris and sister, Mary Scheideler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Manley, Nebraska with Father Tom Wiedel officiating.
Viewing Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Elmwood, Nebraska from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Visitation with the family at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Manley, Nebraska from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Elmwood, Nebraska.
