HUMBOLDT - Healthy Blue Nebraska, a Medicaid coverage plan provider formerly known as WellCare,  has given $25,000 to support Southeast Nebraska Community Action.

SENCA Director Vicky McNealy said the support will improve lives and build strong communities through housing, food, family services and childhood literacy.

Dr. Rob Rhodes of Healthy Blue said community partners impact health by addressing factors in the physical, behavioral, economic and social environments.

McNealy says a recent study shows that nearly half of Americans are unaware the social factors play a key role in health.  External factors like nutritious food, safe housing, and reliable

transportation help determine health outcomes.
