Authorities have identified the man killed in a barn fire in eastern Nebraska.
BENNINGTON, Neb.-- Authorities have identified the man killed in a barn fire in eastern Nebraska.
The fire was reported Thursday morning at Heartland Farms near Bennington, which breeds, sells, and trains horses.
State Fire Marshal investigators say 32-year-old Nathan Dietrich died in the fire. He was an employee of Heartland Farms.
Preliminary results indicate the cause of death was smoke inhalation.
In addition, nine horses were killed in the fire and a firefighter was injured.
Crews from 13 area fire departments helped to fight the fire.
