NEBRASKA CITY – No serious injuries were reported after a head-on collision on Central Avenue in Nebraska City Thursday.

 A car driven by Aradia Victoria Cox, 40, crossed the center line near 17th Street, drove up on the curb, smashed over a mailbox and returned to the street to collided with an oncoming minivan head on.

There was airbag deployment in both vehicles. Cox and the driver of the minivan, William Welsh IV, refused medical treatment at the scene.

Police say Cox reported mechanical failure causing the car to veer out of its lane. She was cited for crossing the center line.

Both vehicles are listed as totaled.
