PLATTSMOUTH - Micah Lanham, 48, of Plattsmouth was sentenced Monday to five to 10 years in prison for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person on July 26.

Cass County sheriff’s deputy served Lanham with a domestic protection order  excluding him from a residence in rural Plattsmouth, but deputies were told Lanham was attempting to gain access to the property to retrieve guns.

Deputies later located two safes in the basement, where they found five rifles, two pistols and ammunition. Lanham had earlier been ordered not to possession deadly weapons due to a felony conviction.

He was also sentenced to 180 days in jail for a protection order violation.
