Auburn organization responds to isolation

AUBURN – The Good Samaritan Society is offering social accountability grants aimed to easing loneliness and pandemic isolation for senior citizens.
Maria Hudson of the Good Samaritan Center at Auburn set a goal this year to engage with seniors and finds ways to get the elderly to interact with others in their community spiritually, emotionally and physically.
The society schedules monthly visits to St. Paul Lutheran Church’s senior group, the Terrace Heights potluck and Auburn Senior Center.
Hudson: “I am very excited to continue to work with our senior population in Nemaha County and surrounding areas.”
Special outings and bus trips are expected for the theater, parks and community activities.
The $10,000 grants are intended to address basic human needs of homelessness and hunger in the community at large.
