Mal's Bar among debuts for Groundhog Day Celebration
Music planned following 2 p.m. parade
UNADILLA – The 35th annual Unadilla Ground Hog Day celebration will have a couple of debuts this year.
“Unadilla Billie” will make her first prognostication and make public appearances prior to the parade and Mal’s Bar and Grill will make its debut, as well.

The bar was purchased by Matt and Mal Wallen of rural Unadilla in October of 2021 and has been closed for a complete remodel since that date.

Mal stated that in the four-month process she has not once regretted the adventure. The insides were gutted, walls taken out, beautiful tin ceilings and existing brick were found and preserved back to original state.
Wallen said she is "super pumped" for this dramatic change.

Mal's will also be having entertainment from 3 to 6 p.m. with Pat Glenn of Lincoln and his piano bar, with singer Randy Baker and John Moss on Harmonica, both are past Syracuse residents.
