Deadly accident on Highway 2

NEBRASKA CITY – Otoe County officials are investigating a deadly accident on Highway 2 during the snowstorm Friday.

Unofficial reports indicate the driver of a SUV was killed in a collision with a UPS freight-truck with a 53-foot semi-trailer. There were three occupants in the SUV.

Rescue calls were made to Palmyra, Douglas and Unadilla.

The accident preceded numerous motorist assists and truck slide offs overnight. Two truckers were taken to the hospital at Syracuse.

Nebraska City police assisted the sheriff’s office with a burglary alarm on north 58^th Road at 2:55 a.m.
