Bill would unbound Peru State's degree programs
Sen. Slama introduces LB887 to broaden master's programs
LINCOLN - District 1 State Sen. Julie Slama introduced LB 887 on Monday to authorize Peru State College to provide a larger selection of Master's Degree programs.
Sen. Slama said current state statute authorizes Peru State to offer master’s degrees only in two fields: Education and Organizational Management.
She said the limitation poses a competitive disadvantage for the college to attract students that want to pursue an advanced degree.
Sen. Slama said she is thrilled to introduce the bill after working with Peru State Alumni and the Nebraska State College System.
