Rivals East Atchison and Rock Port split games Friday night

The East Atchison girls defeated Rock Port 62-20 and the Rock Port boys defeated East Atchison 55-44 Friday night.

ROCK PORT, Mo.- The East Atchison Wolves went on the road Friday night to take on the Rock Port Blue Jays in a girls and boys basketball rivalry. 

The East Atchison girls ran away with a big 62-20 victory in the opener. The Lady Wolves played an aggressive, up-tempo style causing many turnovers and easy scoring opportunities. Junior Natalie Hedlund led all scorers with a thirty-one point effort for the Wolves. Sophomore Chaney Vogler was the leading scorer for the Lady Jays with eight points. 

The Blue Jay boys were able to avenge the girls loss, taking down the Wolves 55-44 in the finale. Senior Holden Farmer and Junior Micah Makings combined for thirty-six points to lead Rock Port. Junior Jarrett Spinnato chipped in fifteen points for East Atchison in the losing effort.
