Kansas company says Falls City field turf is nearing maximum compaction and hardness

FALLS CITY – Falls City Public School improvement steering committee summarized feedback at its November meeting.
Primary recommendations focus on core English and language arts in the core academic area and social support systems.
The improvement plan calls for improved reading, access to emotional and behavior support, opportunity for mental health or social programs to enhance positive relationships.
Superintendent Tim Heckenlively also reported results of state assessments from this spring.
He said the percent of students proficient decreased following the pandemic procedures.
The school board is also considering replacement of the artificial turf in 2022. Turf Diagnostics says the turf installed in 2005 is becoming compacted and hard.
