AUBURN - The Omaha Public Power District is preparing for power outages linked to today's stormy weather, but has no outages as of this morning.

The OPPD power outage map briefly showed thousand of outages before daybreak today, but that was due to a glitch in the reporting system. OPPD was preparing for today and the outage map was briefly impacted.

The 9 a.m. update to the outage map shows all electric service had been restored.

An OPPD press release talks about the high wind hazards.

Safety is a top priority for our employees and our customers. We are reminding our staff and crews in the field of added precautions to take during high wind events.

We also want to remind our local news crews and our other customers of the dangers of downed power lines. If you come across a downed line, ALWAYS assume it is live, high-voltage, and extremely dangerous.

Stay far back, at least 30-feet, and call 911 or OPPD at 1-800-554-OPPD (6773) to report the hazard.
