Driver pushed from road

PLATTSMOUTH – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reports a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 80 near Ashland.

A press release says a Hyundai Accent, driven by 70-year-old Patricia Williams of Lincoln, was pushed from the eastbound exit by a backing pickup truck.

Investigators say Williams had slowed due to a truck and semi-trailer stopped on the shoulder. As she reached the front of the stopped semi-trailer, a pickup pulled in front of her. Williams stopped, but the pickup accelerated rapidly in reverse, striking her car and pushing it off the road.

The pickup then continued east on I-80.
