SYRACUSE – Friends, family and the community have long been awaiting the news of Eric Fass returning home.

Fass, the fire chief of the Syracuse Volunteer Fire Department, was injured moving livestock in July.

He is scheduled to return home from rehabilitation on Friday, Dec. 3.

A homecoming celebration parade is scheduled at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4.

Line up is scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m. on 26th Road.

A Caring Bridge post says parade goers are asked to adorn vehicles with balloons, signs, or whatever they want to use to show Eric, Amanda and the kids how loved and supported they are.

Christa Reisdorff and Melissa Wellensiek are organizing a meal train for the family, as well. Anyone would provide a meal for the family or donate gift cards to restaurants are asked to reach out  to organizers.

Amanda will be unable to leave Eric for an extended period of time, so meals readily available at the farm would work best.

If you have any questions you can reach out to Christa Reisdorff at
402-269-7353  or  Melissa Wellensiek at 402-957-7272.
