Graham offers to continue legal service under contract

NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City commissioners are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. today.

The agenda includes a approving bank loans for firefighter gear and a $199,000 street sweeper.

Commissioners will consider sending a letter to the county board in support of using American Recovery Plan Act funds for housing development.

The strategy for the city attorney position will also be considered.

Drew Graham, former city attorney, is currently working with Svehla Law Offices, which has offices in York, Aurora and Osceola.

He proposes contracting for the city’s legal services for $5,000 a month. The cost of employment of an attorney had been $7,600.
