NEBRASKA CITY – District Judge Julie Smith has sustained a motion to suppress evidence in a case against  39-year-old Tish Trew of Syracuse.

The judge said information given to a sheriff’s deputy while he is searching searching the informant’s home for evidence of a crime is not necessarily reliable.

The  owner of the house told deputies she had purchased meth, but the judge said the informant did not give the information against her own interest, which might indicate reliability of the information.

The judge said  the purchaser of drugs is not charged under Nebraska law with conspiracy or delivery, while the seller is.

Trew is charged in Otoe County with delivery of a hazardous drug in October of 2020.
