Burglary investigation takes deputies to Hastings

SIDNEY -  The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office is reporting the arrest of John Robert Washburn, 41, of  Hastings, Iowa, after a report of a possible theft from a building at Agri Vision Equipment in Hamburg.   

 A sheriff’s office press release says a witness alerted employees on the morning of Oct. 4 that someone was in a shed on the property and employees questioned Washburn before he left.

The sheriff’s office says Washburn is suspected of taking items from the building, including a pump from an industrial air compressor.

Sheriff deputies say the pump was located at a rural location near Hastings, Iowa.
