Morton-James Public Library 1908

NEBRASKA CITY - The Morton-James Public Library has scheduled a 7 p.m. presentation on Thursday, Sept. 30, about the first librarian Mollie Cornhutt.

The Nebraska City librarian served from 1897 to 1914. Masks are optional for the event in celebration of the library’s 125th anniversary.

In other news, the library recently announced a $3,000 grant for its participation in the American Library Association’s Libraries  Transforming Communities program.

The next round of conversations begin Tuesday, Sept. 28, with hour-long sessions beginning at 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
