Hamburg plans Popcorn Day

HAMBURG – Hamburg Kiwanis is organizing its 20021 Popcorn Day on Saturday, Sept. 11 with the theme “Hamburg USA – Poppin Proud.”

Events included children’s games, Balloon Lady, queen coronation and a kiddie parade at 12:30 p.m.

The main parade at 1 p.m. will be followed by Southeast Nebraska Community Band and Elvis Presley at the Park.

The best red, white and blue decorations will be announced at 12:15 p.m., when the grand marshal and service awards are announced.

Saturday, Sept. 11

• 7 a.m. 10K/5K Tri State Race. Register at elementary school.
• 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. - Market in the park
• 9 a.m. - Children's games
• 10 a.m. - Pedal Tractor pull @ Main Street
• 11:30 a.m. - Popcorn queen and princess coronation
• Noon - Ping pong ball drop from airplane at flag pole
• 12:15 p.m. - grand marshal and service awards
• 12:30 p.m. - kiddie parade starting at medical clinic
• 1 p.m. - Big parade @ Main
• 2-3 p.m. - Southeast Nebraska Community Band
• 3-4 p.m. - Elvis Presley @ the park
• 4 p.m. - Alumni coffee at the Center
