USS Nebraska crew to visit in September
Meet and greet scheduled Sept. 8
NEBRASKA CITY – Sailors serving on the USS Nebraska submarine are expected to visit Nebraska City in early September as part of a goodwill tour of the state.
Blue Star Mothers will host five crew members. Their time in Nebraska City will include tours of local museums and lunch with the local Rotary Club. They will also visit to the Cooper Nuclear Power Plant at Brownville.
A meet and greet is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Little Ted’s Pub & Grill at 416 Central Ave.
Crew members will also spend time in Omaha and Lincoln, visiting the Strategic Air & Aerospace Museum, the Henry Doorly Zoo and attending a Nebraska football game.
The USS Nebraska is a ballistic missile submarine and part of the United State’s fleet. It is based out of Bangor, Wash.
