AUBURN -- For the second straight year, Auburn built a two-possession lead against Ashland-Greenwood. For the second straight year, the Bluejays escaped with a one-point victory.

On the strength of two touchdowns, one from Ryan Dixon and one from Tate Hug, Auburn built a 16-3 advantage at halftime.

After a scoreless third quarter, Ashland-Greenwood scored a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns, including the go-ahead score with 2:41 left. Dane Jacobson connected with Evan Shepard on a 26-yard touchdown pass,

Auburn put themselves in position to regain the lead at the end, when Dixon connected with Ryan Binder on a long pass to get the Bulldogs inside the Ashland-Greenwood 15-yard-line. Auburn had third-and-one at the Ashland-Greenwood two-yard-line, but a defensive stand and an interception sealed the win for the Bluejays.

Auburn (0-1) travels to Ft. Calhoun next week, while Ashland-Greenwood (1-0) will host Milford.
