NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska Department of Transportation has closed the Missouri River bridge at Nebraska City to trucks and heavy commercial traffic.

A press release says the state is conducting planned rehabilitation work on the Nebraska side of the bridge and closed the bridge to heavy loads out of “an abundance of caution.”

All other traffic may continue to use the bridge. Detour signs are planned to help guide truck traffic to Interstate 29 in Iowa.
