Summer events on council agenda

FALLS CITY – The Falls City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on June 7.
The agenda includes the appointment of an assistant police chief, Lemonade Days on July 10, ice cream and fireworks on June 26 and requests for the Cobblestone Festival 2021.
The city has received a $11,950 bid for a traffic study and a family pool pass is available for checkout that the library.
The city council will also consider restructuring the city administration position.
The Police and Fire Employment Selection Board recommends the appointment of Patrick Stamper to the position of assistant police chief.
Falls City Chamber & Main Street and Sixpence is proposing closing a portion of 17th Street on July 10 for annual Lemonade Day events, which include live music, face painting and a police-sponsored bike rodeo. SENCA will serve hot dogs.
Rachel Jackson and Joyce Jones of the First United Methodist Church request use of 17th Street on June 26 for an ice cream social and fireworks exhibit.
Amber Holle of Falls City Chamber & Main Street requests parking restrictions and street closings Aug. 13-14 to bring RockIT Event Pros for rides and attractions for the Cobblestone Festival. Stanton Lake would be used Thursday, Aug. 12, for the volunteer fire department fishing tournament.
