FALLS CITY – Arrest warrants were issued last week when two defendants failed to show up in court.

An arrest warrant was issued May 18 for Brian Mackey, 45, of Dawson after he failed to appear for a plea hearing.

A $1,800 bond assigned to Joshua Darden was revoked.

Mackey is charged with using his vehicle as a weapon, possession and terroristic threats.

Police say they received a report of a pickup running a car off of the highway and saw the suspected pickup in Falls City.

An arrest warrant was issued May 18 for Brian Valdez, 47, of Lansing, Kan., who is charged with crashing a stolen vehicle and running on foot before he was apprehended by the vehicle’s owner.

Court records say Valdez failed to show for court hearings May 4 and May 18.

An arrest affidavit says the owner of a 2007 Chrysler Crossfire was visiting at a friend’s apartment when he heard the car start outside and saw it pull out the parking lot. The man rushed to another vehicle and went in search of his car, when the Crossfire crashed into a barricade on Towle Street.

The affidavit says Valdez ran on foot, but was chased down the car’s owner.
