TECUMSEH – The Tecumseh City Council is considering an excessive noise ordinance.
The ordinance would forbid the operation of equipment that amplifies sound when it can be heard from more than 100 feet away. It includes TV, radio, stereo and other equipment with loud speakers.
The prohibition does not include machinery or events sponsored by school, church or government entities, as well as athletic, carnival or other public events.
The city council can also issue permits for excess audio.
