NC takes part in 70 years of national prayer
NEBRASKA CITY – Christians participated in National Day of Prayer events at Nebraska City Thursday.
Prayers were offered on topics of seven centers of influence: government, military, media, business, education, church and family.
Participants gathered at the 10 Commandments monument on Eagles Club property near the Otoe County Courthouse, the flag pole at Nebraska City High School and at the police station. Calvary Community Church hosted a guest speaker.
It is the 70th National Day of Prayer observance. U.S. soldiers were fighting in North Korea when President Harry Truman signed a congressional resolution calling for an annual National Day of Prayer.
