College World Series expected to have 50% capacity this year

OMAHA, Neb. – A policy update regarding upcoming NCAA championship events will have an impact on the 2021 College World Series.
The NCAA said Thursday that it will limit attendance to 50% capacity for its remaining outdoor spring championships
The organization’s attendance limit was 25% for the NCAA Volleyball Tournament, which was also held in Omaha this month. That event was conducted indoors at the CHI Health Center.
The College World Series will take place at TD Ameritrade Park this June, marking the 10th time the event has been played at the stadium since moving there in 2011. The tournament was not played last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to moving to its current home, the College World Series was played for 61 consecutive seasons at Rosenblatt Stadium.
TD Ameritrade Park lists its capacity at 24,000. However, the number of fans admitted would likely be less than 12,000 since attendance limits usually include players, coaches, media and stadium personnel.
