Sheriff investigates head-on collision
Pontiac traveling east in westbound lanes

NEBRASKA CITY – The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle, head-on collision on Highway 2 near Palmyra on Saturday.
A sheriff’s office press release says a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by 21-year-old Cade Ballard of Pender was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the highway at 3:06 a.m.
The Pontiac collided head-on with a freight truck driven by David Gatlin, 45, of Grand Island.
Ballard was pinned and required extrication from his vehicle. He and Gatlin were transported to Bryan LGH in Lincoln.
