Hamburg man suspected of extortion

SIDNEY – A Hamburg man was arrested Wednesday on allegations of extortion, harassment and stalking.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of 22-year-old Jeremy Rhoades.

Deputies allege that he began harassing a female on March 11 and continued until his arrest.

He is suspected of accessing her email and social media accounts to send threatening messages to her contacts.

Deputies say he was armed with a blunt instrument on two occasions with intent to intimidate the victim. He also threatened to damage her person property for his financial gain.
